Serious Sam 4 is launching this August, publisher Devolver Digital has announced. While a specific release date has not yet been pinned down, the over-the-top shooter will hit both Steam and Google Stadia.
A prequel to previous games in the series, Serious Sam 4 puts players once again in the shoes of Sam “Serious” Stone as he battles against an army of alien invaders. In addition to returning foes like the Headless Kamikaze and Beheaded Rocketeer, there will be new monstrosities to face, including the Processed, Belcher, and the intimidating Brute Zealot.
Also new in this installment is the Legion System, which will pit you against hordes of monsters based on the size of the environment; Devolver says you’ll fight through “battlefields teeming with thousands of enemies.” You’ll also be able to team up with up to three friends and complete missions together in the online co-op mode.
Ahead of its release this summer, Serious Sam 4 is available to pre-order on the game’s official website. Devolver is also holding a Serious Sam sale, so you can snag previous entries in the series for up to 90% off for a limited time.
